A Floor Option
Laminate flooring is available in many plank widths and square tile sizes, with finish design images that realistically imitate hardwood, stone or tile. The top wear layer has good durability and is resistant to most stains spills or burns.
Most laminate floors use a glueless locking system known as “clic” floors. One type of floor system involves a tongue and groove that is reinforced from underneath by an aluminum mechanical locking system. The other main type has a tongue and groove locking system built into the middle core so the planks can snap together.
Some types of laminate floors are preglued at the factory with water-resistant glue; a damp sponge activates the adhesive along the tongue edging for installation.
